My workflow is typically situational, but the ideal process depends heavily on foundational pillars that support a successful execution.
STRATEGY + RESEARCH
It starts here. Nothing can truly be achieved without due diligence of understanding a brand, target audiences, and a growth path. This knowledge helps determine solutions for the problem at-hand.
DATA GATHERING + Goal Setting
Collecting data is great, but leveraging the results extracted from data immediately sets the team up for success. Analyzing tendencies, trends, a shifting paradigm, proxies, use cases, et al help establish goals and how to exceed them.
ASSEMBLY + COLLABORATION
The team dynamic and strengths of each individual is important. The partnership with clients and outside resources are just as essential. In order to elevate a project, each team member brings their experience and knowledge to the table and cultivates an environment for each other to thrive.
CONCEPT + PITCH DEVELOPMENT
Measure twice, cut once model. I stay away from “good, better, best” and strive to deliver “best, best, best” because I know my team and I have relied on data to create solutions. The rationale for the 5 Ws (+ 1 H) are answered without being asked. This helps level set the broader team.
EXECUTE + REFINEMENT
Internal reviews before client approvals prove to be imperative in the process. The refinement that happens early on curbs the need for continuous rounds of revisions and effectively provides clarity for final delivery.
DELIVERY + DEBRIEF
It doesn’t end here. This is essentially the start of the next engagement. The debrief after successful delivery puts “strategy and research” back on the clock. What we learn will help us implement even better the next time around.
